BossHoles are destroying our economy and ruining our lives. They do this by undermining the quality of our teams. Teams are the engine that drives the economy. Teams build stuff, make stuff, accomplish stuff and teach stuff. Teams are inter-professional, inter-disciplinary, inter-racial and inter-faith. Most of the good stuff that happens happens as the result of a group of people coming together for a common purpose to get stuff done. And that is the definition of what a team is.
Good people make good teams work. But bad people screw up good teams. The largest dollar drain on our economy is not welfare cheats or tax loop holes it is the powerful negative destruction of good teams by bad bosses. These bossholes come in all shapes, sizes, creeds, colors , and political persuasions. They destroy businesses, non-profits, religious organizations, civic organizations and informal groups alike. They bully us at work and terrorize our home owners associations.
These evil nasty people suck the joy, energy and enthusiasm out of our lives. They add stress and reduce happiness. They can turn our moments of triumph in to agonizing defeat in the blink of an eye. It is time for all good people to rise up and refuse to take this anymore. It is time to take a stand. I am inspired by our December 16, 1773 when a group of American Colonials marched into Boston Harbor and threw tons of English Tea in to the harbor in an event that has come to be known as , The Boston Tea Party. This was ordinary citizens throwing off the shackles of the oppressive Royal BossHole King George.
